Enjoy Everyday Moments with Your Favorite Tableware
Treasure the Simple Joys of Daily Life.
These bowls are handcrafted by Miyuki Matoba of nagusa, a pottery studio in Yamashina, Kyoto. She named her studio “nagusa,” meaning “nameless grass,” to express her wish to create ceramics that blend naturally into daily life.
The result is a pair of bowls filled with warmth and charm, perfect for everyday meals.

The Annan style, originating from Vietnam, is known for its soft and expressive finish. Each piece shows unique glaze variations and delicate blurring, showcasing the natural character of handmade Japanese ceramics. After carving fine lines, gosu (blue pigment) is applied, creating a gentle and inviting look.

Matoba studied fine arts at university and later trained in ceramics in Kyoto. Her simple line-drawn bird motifs bring peace and warmth to both casual dining and teatime.
