About the Artists

Oguratei Kiln – Oguratei

  • Born in Kyoto, 1944
  • Graduated from Kyoto Hiyoshigaoka High School, Ceramic Arts Program, 1962
  • Graduated from Kyoto Ceramic Training School, 1963
  • Completed advanced studies at Kyoto Municipal Industrial Research Institute, 1965
  • Participated in the establishment of the Sumiyama Craft Village, 1969
  • First solo exhibition at Kiku Gallery, Kyoto, 1974
  • Certified as a Traditional Craftsman, 1992
  • Passed away in 2012

Reiko Ogura

  • Born in Uji, Kyoto, 1975
  • Graduated from Ritsumeikan University, Faculty of Letters, 1999
  • Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Technical School, 2000
  • Graduated from Kyoto Municipal Industrial Research Institute, 2001
  • Participated in Kyoto Prefecture’s “Overseas Training Program for Young Craftsmen” in Italy, 2004
  • Selected for the Kyo-ware & Kiyomizu-ware Exhibition, 2014
