Matcha Bowl – Irabo Glaze “Weeping Cherry Blossoms” by Kaihou

Kiyomizu Ware Tea Ceramics by Kaifū Yagi

Crafted in Yamashiro, Kyoto—an area close to Uji and deeply connected to Japan’s tea culture—this matcha bowl is created by Kaifū Yagi, a master of traditional tea ceramics.

Its precise form and calm, refined presence reflect years of experience in handmade Kyoto pottery, shaped with a deep understanding of the tea ceremony.

Hand-Painted Character, One of a Kind

Each matcha bowl is hand-painted, with subtle variations in brushwork and spacing that give every piece its own individuality.

No two bowls are ever the same—this uniqueness is a hallmark of handmade ceramic art and part of the pleasure of selecting your own bowl.

Designed for Everyday Tea Moments

From the depth of the bowl to the feel of the rim and the balance in the hand, every detail is shaped with actual use in mind.

Suitable for both tea practice and relaxed daily enjoyment, this bowl gently enhances quiet moments of preparing and drinking matcha.

Owner’s Comment

A gracefully cascading cherry blossom is painted freely across the rustic surface of the Irabo-style glaze. The earthy texture of the glaze and the gentle brushwork come together to create a calm, soothing expression. A matcha bowl that brings a quiet sense of spring to the tea table.
