Kiyomizu Ware Tea Ceramics by Kaifū Yagi

Created in Yamashiro, Kyoto—an area close to Uji and deeply connected to Japanese tea culture—this matcha bowl is crafted by Kaifū Yagi, a kiln master devoted to traditional tea ceramics.

Its well-balanced form and clean silhouette reflect years of refined handmade craftsmanship, shaped with careful attention to the traditions of Kyoto pottery.

Unique Expressions, Hand-Painted One by One

Each matcha bowl is finished by hand, with subtle differences in brushwork and spacing that give every piece its own character.

No two are exactly alike—this individuality is a hallmark of handmade ceramic work and adds to the pleasure of selecting a bowl that feels just right.

Thoughtful Design for Everyday Tea Time

From the interior depth to the feel of the rim and the balance in hand, this bowl is carefully shaped with real use in mind.

Suitable for both regular practice and relaxed daily tea moments, it quietly enhances your matcha experience without distraction.

Tea Ceramic Artist: Kaifū Yagi

In 2003, he was officially certified as a Traditional Craftsman of Kiyomizu Ware.

He continues to create pottery at his studio in Yamashiro-Taga, Kyoto.
