The soft texture unique to Raku ware

Raku ware matcha bowls are vessels born from the tea ceremony in Kyoto, with a history of approximately 400 years.
Shaped by hand without using a potter's wheel, each piece naturally exhibits subtle variations.

Its soft texture, fired at a low temperature, and the warmth it transmits to the hand are characteristic.
The changing aesthetic as it is used is also a charm unique to Raku ware.

For tea ceremony and daily matcha

This bowl is easy to use as a tea utensil yet can be enjoyed casually.

You can use it to enjoy matcha at home, appreciating it as a vessel that reflects the seasons.
Not only when in use, but even when simply placed, it adds a gentle splash of color to any space.

Delivered in a wooden box with the artist's handwritten inscription

The matcha bowl will be sent in a wooden box with the artist's handwritten inscription.

It is suitable for storage and its special presentation makes it an excellent gift.

*You can choose whether or not to have it wrapped.

A word from the owner

This is a red Raku matcha bowl, a reproduction of "Akekure" by Raku Nyū, which offers the soft texture characteristic of Raku ware.

"Akekure" (meaning "dawn and dusk") is a design that expresses the changing sky from morning to evening. The profound scenery of the red Raku ware evokes the changing moods of the sky, creating a quiet and deeply tasteful atmosphere.

Its charm lies in its warm texture that fits comfortably in the hand and its wabi-sabi aesthetic. It is a profoundly tasteful bowl that accompanies your daily matcha experience.
