A Delightful Sake Cup for Memorable Moments

Experience the Timeless Beauty of Kyoto Pottery

From the renowned Nagata Studio in Kyoto’s Kyotanba region, master potter Takuro Nagata presents this exquisite handmade sake cup. With over 50 years of experience, he has created a piece that embodies the artistry and craftsmanship of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery.

This sake cup is a perfect combination of traditional techniques and modern aesthetics, making every sip a special occasion.

Each piece is carefully shaped using the "press mold" technique, a labor-intensive process that involves hand-pressing clay into molds. This method highlights the artistry and attention to detail that goes into every cup.

The slight irregularities and preserved fingerprints give each cup a unique character, making it a true testament to handmade craftsmanship.

The porcelain material is chosen for its translucent quality and refined texture. Fired at high temperatures, the cup is exceptionally durable, ensuring its beauty and functionality for years to come.

This sake cup offers not only practical use but also an elegant addition to any table setting.

The hand-painted rabbit and moon design, a symbol of tranquility and grace, is created by Nagata’s wife, a former artisan in Kyoto's renowned Yuzen dyeing tradition. Her delicate brushstrokes in soft indigo hues bring a sense of harmony and understated elegance to the piece.

This sake cup is perfect for those who appreciate fine pottery, blending practicality with artistic beauty.
