Elegant Hand-painted Design, Rooted in Kyoto Tradition
This matcha bowl from Kyoto, Japan represents the timeless beauty of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery. Its hand-painted design captures the refined elegance of Japanese artistry, blending color, form, and spirit into one harmonious piece.
Each brushstroke expresses the painter’s delicate sensibility, evoking the graceful atmosphere of Kyoto. The bowl’s soft, rounded curves—shaped on the potter’s wheel—are complemented by the masterful Iroe (colored overglaze) technique perfected by Jyosui Kato.

Enjoy the Changing Seasons with Every Sip
Whether used in a formal tea ceremony or during a quiet moment at home, this handmade Kyoto ceramic bowl allows you to experience the beauty of each season through the art of tea.
Its elegant presence brings a sense of calm to your space—an object that can be both admired as decor and cherished in daily life.
The comfortable form fits perfectly in your hands, making it ideal for matcha, green tea, or any meditative tea ritual that brings peace to your day.

The Art of Kyoto Hand-painting
Jyosui Kato continues the legacy of Edo-period Kyoto pottery, embodying the naturalistic beauty and poetic simplicity that define traditional Japanese aesthetics.
His work features floral and auspicious motifs rendered in delicate brushstrokes and soft hues, carrying forward the heritage of hand-painted Japanese ceramics into the present day.
This matcha bowl, alive with the warmth of true craftsmanship, makes a thoughtful handmade gift from Kyoto for someone special.
