Hiroshi Nagamoto's pottery

In the peaceful countryside of Nantan City, Kyoto, Hiroshi Nagamoto creates exquisite Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery in his workshop.

Each piece is lovingly handcrafted, reflecting the traditional pottery techniques of Kyoto that Nagamoto mastered during his apprenticeship at the renowned Wazen Tōen kiln.

The glazes are uniquely blended, producing rich and vibrant colors, born from years of experience and artistic sensitivity within the kiln.

This large plate combines simplicity and functionality with the warmth of handmade craftsmanship.

Its gentle design complements a variety of dishes, from fresh salads to grilled fish, while the slightly raised edges make it perfect for dishes with light sauces or dressings.

Nagamoto’s pottery preserves traditional craftsmanship while seamlessly fitting into modern lifestyles, offering both elegance and practicality.

Each piece quietly conveys the heartfelt dedication and creativity that went into its making, enriching your dining experience with a touch of timeless beauty.

This plate is ideal for salads or grilled fish, thanks to its convenient size.

The slightly raised edges make it suitable for dishes with light sauces or dressings.

In Japanese dining, plates measuring approximately 18 cm (around 7.1 inches) are some of the most versatile and frequently used tableware items.
