This item is a pair set of small plates featuring the striking AMI Amber and Cobalt designs.
They are delivered in a gift box with wrapping, making them an excellent choice as a special present for someone important.

Takanobu Sawada, based in the scenic countryside of Nantan, Kyoto, is the creator of these modern and striking pieces from the AMI series.
The series is distinguished by its bold design, where amber and cobalt blue appear in a net-like pattern across the surface, creating a contemporary expression of Japanese pottery.
Each plate is carefully shaped and carved to ensure usability, then finished with the vivid colors that make this handmade Kyoto ceramic so distinctive.

The glossy black contrasts beautifully with the bold colors, resulting in a design that becomes more familiar and enjoyable with daily use.
Son of a Kyo ware and Kiyomizu ware potter, Sawada developed a passion for ceramics from an early age. Now with over 20 years of experience, he combines youthful creativity with technical mastery to create highly original Kyoto ceramics.
