Realistic, yet somehow endearing.
Take a moment to relax with your favorite cup.

Takunobu Sawada is a potter who has his studio in the satoyama (traditional rural landscape) of Nantan City, Kyoto.

Surrounded by rich nature, he creates vessels with warm and realistic depictions of animals.

Each piece is carefully shaped and carved to be easy to hold and use.

The soft, milky white slip-ware base enhances the gentle texture unique to ceramics.

Vessels that convey the warmth of handcrafted work

The animal designs are not drawn with a brush but are created by scraping off the slip-ware base.

Each line has movement, resulting in a unique and warm artistry.

Takunobu Sawada, whose father is a Kyo-yaki/Kiyomizu-yaki potter, has been familiar with pottery since childhood and already has 20 years of experience in pottery making.

He is a craftsman with solid skills, reaching the level of a veteran in his 30s.

Sawada-san, with his youthful sensibility and refined skills, creates unique vessels that are distinctly Kyoto-style.

Please experience their charm in your daily life.
