Kiyomizu-ware Square Plate Kenzan Style Shunzan Kiln KOTOPOTTER

Experience the Seasons of Kyoto Through Tableware

Founded in 1917 at the foot of Senyu-ji Temple in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district, Shunzan Kiln continues the legacy of traditional Kiyomizu-ware pottery from Kyoto, Japan.

Rooted in time-honored ceramic techniques, the kiln creates designs that complement modern living while preserving traditional craftsmanship.

Each motif is carefully hand-painted, adding a refined seasonal accent to your dining table.

Owner’s Comment

This square plate is inspired by the “Twelve-Month Plates” created by the celebrated Edo-period artist Ogata Kenzan.

The elegant seasonal motif reflects Kenzan-style composition, reinterpreted as a handmade Kyoto ceramic piece for contemporary use.

Suitable as refined Japanese tableware or as a dessert plate for cakes and sweets, this piece harmonizes traditional beauty with everyday functionality.
