A Simple, Straightforward Form Without Excess Decoration

This cup features a straight cylindrical form without a raised foot.

The uncurved, natural shape sits comfortably in the hand.

Rather than following the traditional yunomi form, the design blends easily into modern interiors.

Without painted decoration, the focus is placed on the natural character of the glaze itself.

Its clean presence makes it suitable for a wide range of everyday uses.

The Design Philosophy of QUTOTEN

This yunomi tea cup was created based on the design philosophy of QUTOTEN.

Like punctuation marks that create breathing space in writing, the concept reflects the idea of introducing quiet pauses into everyday life.

On the bottom of the cup, the punctuation-inspired logo is carefully stamped as a symbol of this concept.

Rather than relying on decorative elements, the design emphasizes form and function.

A piece of Japanese ceramic tableware that blends naturally into its surroundings.

Fired by a Traditional Kyoto Kiln

This piece is produced by Touan Kiln, located near Sennyu-ji Temple in Kyoto, Japan.

Founded in 1922, the kiln continues the traditional craftsmanship of Kyoto pottery and Kiyomizu-ware.

Fired at high temperatures, the ceramic cup is durable, resistant to staining, and suitable for daily use.

Combined with its undecorated surface, the design maintains its appearance beautifully over time.

For Everyday Moments

Perfect for tea, but equally enjoyable for hot water, coffee, or other drinks.

The simple form fits naturally into everyday dining and daily routines.

Using several together creates a balanced and relaxed table setting.

A practical and versatile handmade Japanese pottery cup that also makes a thoughtful gift.
