About the Artist

Hosen Maeda

Studio: Antoku Kiln, Maeda Yasunori

  • Born in Kyoto in 1959 as the second son of ceramic artist Masanori Maeda
  • Learned pottery from his father and studied sculpture under Professor Kakuji Yamamoto (Kyoto City University of Arts)
  • Founded his own kiln in Nishinoyama, Yamashina Ward, Kyoto in 1995
