Realistic, yet full of charm.
Take a quiet moment with your favorite cup.
In the countryside of Nantan, Kyoto, ceramic artist Takanobu Sawada creates pottery inspired by the nature that surrounds his studio.
His animal designs are realistic yet warm and endearing, shaped and carved with great care to ensure each cup is comfortable to use.
The soft, milky white kohiki glaze brings out the gentle texture unique to handmade ceramic ware.

A mug that captures the warmth of handmade craft
The animal motifs are not painted, but delicately carved into the kohiki surface.
Each line has a sense of movement, resulting in a piece that feels both expressive and gentle.
Born into a family of Kyo and Kiyomizu ware artisans, Takanobu Sawada has been immersed in pottery since childhood, now with over 20 years of experience.
Though still in his thirties, his skill and artistry place him among the most accomplished of his generation.

Blending youthful creativity with refined craftsmanship, Sawada's work offers a fresh take on Kyoto's ceramic tradition—pieces meant to enrich your everyday moments.
