Realistic, yet somehow endearing.
Take a moment to relax with your favorite cup.

Takunobu Sawada is a potter with a studio in the satoyama (rural landscape) of Nantan City, Kyoto.

Surrounded by rich natural scenery, he creates pottery adorned with warm, realistic depictions of animals.

Each piece is carefully formed and meticulously sculpted to ensure ease of use when held.

The soft, milky-white kohiki glaze enhances the gentle texture unique to pottery.

Pottery that embodies the warmth of handcraftsmanship

The animal patterns are not painted with a brush, but rather carved into the kohiki-glazed surface.

Each line possesses a dynamic quality, resulting in a unique and warm aesthetic.

Born to a father who was a Kyo-yaki/Kiyomizu-yaki potter, Takunobu Sawada has been familiar with pottery since childhood and already boasts 20 years of experience.

Even in his thirties, he is a craftsman with solid skills, having reached the level of a veteran.

Mr. Sawada, who combines youthful sensibility with refined technique, creates highly original pottery unique to Kyoto.

We invite you to experience its charm in your daily life.
