Kenji Matsuoka of Heian Rakudo runs his pottery studio in a quiet corner of Yamashina, Kyoto.
Born into a family of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware artisans, he naturally followed the path of working with clay, crafting pieces that enrich everyday life.

Heian Rakudo’s pottery is designed for daily use, blending seamlessly into your lifestyle with its warmth and simplicity.
Each piece carries a quiet charm, elevating even the most ordinary moments.
In his serene workshop, Matsuoka diligently shapes, fires, and refines his ceramics with a deep dedication to craftsmanship.

While he crafts each piece by hand, his wife provides invaluable support, making this a studio built on both skill and care.
Experience the heartfelt craftsmanship of handmade ceramics—each piece infused with tradition and warmth.

Owner's Comment
Perfect for use as a candy jar or sugar pot.
The exquisite blue-to-purple gradient makes it a beautiful interior accent as well.
