A Clean Form Designed for Ease of Use
A wide, open rim and a straight cylindrical body create a balanced and practical form.
The subtly raised foot keeps the silhouette refined and visually light.
Rather than decorative painting, the design highlights the natural beauty of the glaze itself.
The quiet form and tactile surface allow this bowl to blend naturally into both traditional tea rooms and modern interiors.
Fired at high temperatures, this durable ceramic matcha bowl is suitable for everyday use.

The Design Philosophy of QUTOTEN
This matcha bowl was created based on the design philosophy of QUTOTEN.
Like punctuation marks that create rhythm and breathing space in writing, QUTOTEN aims to introduce a quiet pause within everyday life.
The circular motif on the front expresses the core idea behind the QUTOTEN concept.
Rather than relying on elaborate decoration, the focus is placed on form and function.
A bowl designed to quietly integrate into the surrounding space.

Fired by a Kyoto Kiln with a Long Tradition
This piece is produced by Touan Kiln, located near Sennyu-ji Temple in Kyoto, Japan.
Founded in 1922, the kiln continues the traditional techniques of Kyoto pottery and Kiyomizu-ware.
The bowl is fired at high temperatures, resulting in a strong ceramic body that resists staining and works well for daily use.
Because it avoids painted decoration, the appearance remains stable over time and retains its beauty through years of use.

Suitable for Both Tea Ceremony and Everyday Life
The calm appearance fits naturally into a traditional tea ceremony setting.
At the same time, it blends effortlessly into modern homes and contemporary interiors.
Not only for formal tea gatherings, but also for preparing matcha at home.
With its practical design and refined presence, this handmade Japanese pottery bowl also makes a thoughtful gift.
