A note from the owner

This is a gō-chawan (matcha bowl) by Tōraku, featuring a seigaiha pattern and green maple leaves.

A gō-chawan has a height somewhere between a hirachawan (flat tea bowl) and a standard matcha bowl. It offers the open feel of a summer tea bowl, yet is easy to use for whisking matcha.

The bowl features a gently spreading seigaiha pattern and fresh green maple leaves, expressing a refreshing early summer scene. Seigaiha is an auspicious pattern representing calm waves that continue eternally, embodying wishes for peace and prosperity.

This is a bowl perfect for early summer, allowing you to enjoy cool colors and seasonal design.
