Kyo-yaki/Kiyomizu-yaki Crystal Glaze Rock Glass

Enhance the flavor of your daily evening drink with this rocks glass, finished with the traditional techniques cultivated by Goun Kiln in Higashiyama, Kyoto, and covered in a "crystalline glaze" that resembles ice crystals.

Each piece has a unique pattern, creating a luxurious feel that is almost like it was made to order.

A popular item that far exceeded its target amount on Makuake

This popular glass was launched as a crowdfunding project on Makuake in February 2025, and received supportive purchases far exceeding the target amount.

The beautiful patterns created by the crystalline glaze and the solid feel that fits comfortably in the hand have led to it being accepted as "art that blends into everyday life."

Unique expression created by zinc oxide crystals

The crystalline glaze is slowly fired at a high temperature of approximately 1,250°C, and is a natural trajectory created by the flame and glaze.

Each grain resembles a frozen crystal, and changes color depending on the light, from blue to green to silver.

The amber outline of the whiskey is accented with a subtle sparkle, elevating your everyday drink to the next level.

Perfect as a gift or a treat for yourself

A perfect special gift for someone you care about or who cares for you.

Highly recommended as a memorable gift.

Comfortable form that fits comfortably in your hand

After shaping on a potter's wheel, the craftsman carves it out with a special plane to achieve just the right weight and thickness. The rim is exquisitely thin, yet extremely durable.

Add plenty of ice and pour in whiskey to highlight the sparkle of the crystals. The generous capacity makes it suitable for iced tea and non-alcoholic cocktails.

The base is designed to be stable, so there is absolutely no wobbling when you place the glass on a table. The glass fits snugly in your hand and gives you a sense of security, something you'll want to enjoy especially when relaxing after work.

The path of crystal exploration, pursued by creator Goun Maeda

Maeda Goun, who has over 50 years of experience in pottery, has continued to pursue the beauty of crystalline glazes, even after undergoing surgery and rehabilitation. This series was the result of repeated trial and error, surrendering himself to the chemical reaction between flame and glaze.

The belief that ceramics are a living thing, while preserving tradition, gives each piece an unshakable weight.

A drink after work. When you roll ice into a glass and pour whiskey, the crystalline glaze gently catches the light and shimmers. This glass was designed to bring you that same moment.

To reset your fatigue during the day, the simple appearance of a cup of tea is important. The sparkle of the crystals will add a touch of drama to your relaxation time.
