Vivid, Clear Blue
A celadon glazed vessel crafted by Ryuta Takagi, the head of Iwakagama, a Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki kiln.
Its striking feature is a vivid, clear blue reminiscent of turquoise. Beautiful colors evoking deep seas and clear skies spread across the entire vessel.
When it catches the light, the shades and luster of blue become more prominent, allowing you to enjoy various expressions depending on the viewing angle.

Unique Glaze Born from Kyoto and Okinawa
Mr. Takagi learned traditional pottery techniques in Kyoto and then further honed his skills in Okinawa.
The uniquely blended glaze, created from his experiences and sensibilities cultivated in different lands, produces this impressive blue.
It is a color unique to Ryuta Takagi, born from the fusion of Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki techniques with the climate and pottery sensibilities he encountered in Okinawa.

A Blue Landscape Born in Each Piece
The charm of celadon glaze is not merely its vivid blue color.
As the glaze melts and flows in the kiln, deep blue appears where it accumulates thickly, and bright, light blue emerges where it is thin. These natural gradations and undulations mean no two pieces are exactly alike.
The celadon glaze offers depth and serenity unique to glazes within its vibrant colors. Please enjoy the unique blue expression of each piece created by Ryuta Takagi.

lovely craftsmanship
Beautiful created! I will treasure it!

Shop Owner's Comment
This is a rock cup by Ryuta Takagi of Iwakagama, where you can enjoy the beautiful colors of his Hekisai Kessho-yu (blue-green crystalline glaze).
Within the glaze, which transitions from deep blue to green, complex expressions created by crystals spread out, presenting a fantastic landscape reminiscent of the sea or minerals. The flow of the glaze and the appearance of crystals change with each firing, making it appealing that each piece has a different expression.
It's a vessel I'd like to use for various everyday drinks, such as sake, cold tea, or coffee.
