From a Small Kiln in Kyoto
Dainichi Kiln, located near Kansyuji Temple in Kyoto, is a family workshop where tradition meets modern living.
Father Shigeo Takemura and his son Yotaro create pottery that honors the legacy of Kiyomizu ware while fitting seamlessly into contemporary lifestyles.
With natural glazes and meticulous handcrafting, each piece is made with care in their quiet mountain studio—one by one, with soul and dedication.
A Blue Glaze Reflecting Sky and Sea
The signature Hekiyu series captures the depth and clarity of the sky and ocean.
From vibrant turquoise to pale aqua and deep indigo, the flowing glaze creates a natural gradient that is different on every piece.
Each work is handmade, ensuring unique textures and expressions that shift beautifully depending on the light and angle—true traditional Japanese ceramic artistry.
Bring a Touch of Elegance to Your Table
These Kyoto handmade ceramics suit both Japanese and Western dining, enhancing everyday meals with a sense of refinement.
Whether enjoying a refreshing iced drink, a soothing cup of tea, or even a favorite cocktail, the graceful silhouette makes each sip special.
Perfect for personal use or as a thoughtful gift, this traditional pottery piece adds both beauty and practicality to your daily life.

Kyoto Pottery by Dainichi Kiln: Yotaro Takemura
Love it. It’ll make the perfect Christmas gift for my husband! It’s beautiful

Let customers speak for us
