From a Small Kiln That Creates Handmade Vessels
Dainichi Kiln is located near Kansyuji Temple in Kyoto.
The vessels made by Yotaro Takemura together with his father, Shigeo Takemura, stay close to the traditions of Kiyomizu-ware while fitting naturally into modern life.
Using glazes that make the most of natural materials and careful handwork, each piece is made one by one in a quiet, mountain-side workshop.

A Blue Gradation Like Reflections of the Sky and Sea
The representative “Ao (Blue) Glaze” series is known for its clear, vivid blue that feels as if it captures the sky or the sea.
Based on turquoise, the glaze flows and blends from pale light blue to deep indigo.
Each piece is finished entirely by hand, and the way the glaze blurs and the colors emerge differs from one to another—no two are ever exactly the same.
It is a beautiful vessel whose expression changes depending on the light and the viewing angle.

A Touch of Something Special for Your Table
Ao-glaze vessels pair well not only with Japanese cuisine but also with Western dishes.
The transparency and quiet presence of the vessel itself gently enhance the food, turning your everyday table into something a little more special.
Comfortable to use, as if it softly relaxes your mind each time. Recommended not only for your own home, but also as a gift.

Beautiful just to look at, but also excellent in everyday usability.
With its straight silhouette and easy-to-hold handle, this is a very practical and comfortable mug to use.
