Ikkajin's Tableware that Adorns Your Dining Table
The small figure peeking out from the rim of the dish is an "Ikkanjin" (Idle Person).
"Kan" means to have peace of mind and enjoy calm moments. The hope is that even in our busy daily lives, we can still slowly enjoy meals and tea time. Such a wish is embedded in this creation.
Each Ikkanjin is handmade, and it is a signature design of Yutaka Takeuchi that deepens in affection every time you look at it.

Brilliance created by the traditional techniques of Kyo ware
Yutaka Takeuchi's works are skillfully created by combining traditional Kyo ware techniques such as Kochi, Sometsuke, and Itchin-mori.
The vessels, featuring patterns drawn with立体的に盛り上げた線 and vibrant colors, are both gorgeous and elegant. The meticulous finishing of the decorations reveals expert craftsmanship.

Adding joy to daily life
While inheriting traditional techniques, the design is somehow approachable and playful.
This is Kyo-yaki/Kiyomizu-yaki by Yutaka Takeuchi that brightens your mood every time you use it.

Shop owner's comment
This gorgeous seven-sun plate features an eye-catching Ikkanjin perched on the rim of the dish.
The peony, depicted in vibrant red Kochi ware, is an auspicious flower also known as the "king of all flowers." Its design, combining grandeur and elegance, adorns the entire dish.
With its substantial size, it can be enjoyed as a serving dish or even a decorative plate. Every glance reveals the endearing expression of the Ikkanjin and the brilliance unique to Kyo ware.
