About the Artist

Yūhō Wakita

  • Born in Kyoto in 1949
  • Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Training School in 1969
  • Studied under master potter Ryotaro Kageyama
  • Later trained under artist Reika Tanaka from 1977
  • Established his own kiln in 1979 in Kasugano, Daigo, Kyoto
  • Recipient of an award at the Kyoto Traditional Painting Exhibition in 1985
  • Held solo exhibitions across Japan
