Jiucasca Kyoto pottery

Botanical Elegance Rooted in Traditional Kyoto Pottery

Located in a quiet neighborhood of northern Kyoto, Jiucasca is a new Kiyomizu-ware studio established by the young ceramic artist Asami Maeda.

Named after the idea of "gentle rain" that quietly nourishes our daily lives, Jiucasca offers handmade ceramics that embody a sense of tranquility and refinement.

With fresh breezes from Mount Hiei flowing through the studio, her pieces are inspired by botanical and natural landscapes, blending intricate plant motifs with the spirit of traditional Kyoto pottery.

Ceramics That Quietly Enrich the Everyday

"I want to cherish the connection between the maker and the user," says Maeda. Her ceramic wares are not only visually beautiful but also thoughtfully crafted for daily use.

The serene hues and gentle forms harmonize naturally with both Western and Japanese dining, offering a quiet moment of peace every time you pick them up.

Owner's Comment

This piece has a generous, straight-sided form that's perfect for a relaxing morning coffee. Its durable construction makes it ideal for long-term, everyday use. The delicate decorations on the translucent white porcelain with a hint of blue give it a refined elegance that fits effortlessly into both Western and Japanese table settings.
