炎の奇跡「天目」

京焼に捧げられた希少な名品

京都を拠点とした陶芸家、故・桶谷定一（二代目）による手作りの逸品。

彼は生涯をかけて天目の制作に情熱を注ぎ、茶道具の芸術を極めました。

1935年、京都に生まれた桶谷氏は、父の窯を受け継ぎ、京焼・清水焼の技術を受け継ぎながら、のちに二代目定一としてその名を継承しました。

時代の変遷に翻弄されながらも、陶芸への信念を貫き、今も愛好家に愛され続ける珠玉の作品を生み出しました。

花瓶　天目B　桶谷洋 KOTOPOTTER

天目とは、鉱物を豊富に含む釉薬が焼成の過程で美しい模様へと変化する、古来中国より伝わる伝統的な焼き物の技法です。

酸素量や温度の微細な調整が求められ、陶芸の中でも特に習得が難しい技術とされています。

さらに、窯の中の環境が予測不能であるため、同じものは二つとして生まれません。すべてが唯一無二の芸術作品です。
